CDC Small Business Finance (CDC), founded in 1978 by Arthur H. Goodman, is a not-for-profit organization stimulating economic development by serving the financing needs of small businesses in California, Arizona and Nevada. Specifically, CDC offers fixed-rate, low down-payment, commercial real estate loans for the purchase of office and industrial buildings.

CDC also offers an array of community loan programs focusing on women, minority and veteran-owned businesses – those small businesses that face the greatest obstacles to securing capital. Additionally, in 2005 CDC created the Capital Markets loan program, which provides financing through Community Reinvestment Fund to help small businesses, including nonprofits, in qualified areas.

Content Marketing Specialist

  • Ideate, research, fact-check, create, edit and optimize written, pictorial and video content for deployment that articulates the organization’s mission in alignment with our brand and market strategy
  • A story teller with a strength for pairing your content with compelling visuals and/or videos to create an emotional connection between our brand and the impact it has on our customers and communities
  • Monitor breaking news and trends, social web for mentions related to our brand, customers and industry for customer story development to celebrate success and highlight industry trends including interviews, writing stories, photos and video
  • Develop relevant and enticing content for corporate and external use that educates, creates awareness and drives engagement
  • Utilize script writing and video direction skills to create and produce content that will promote our news, success stories, industry alerts and trends and events
  • Art direct and collaborate with designer and videographer with a know how to get into the minds of an audience
  • Research relevant best practices and new opportunities for content marketing strategies
  • Manage extensive library of stock imagery, in-house assets and videos for use in all marketing channels
  • Collaborate with the SVP, Brand Marketing and the digital agency to evolve the content engagement strategy including documentation of images and video of corporate happenings to support social strategy and sharing
  • Work with the SVP, Brand Marketing to develop customer story system and library
  • Create content for email newsletters as needed and deploy
  • Engage in customer conversation to gather customer intelligence to create customer personas to serve as foundation for content marketing strategy
  • Develop message library system for corporate access/use


  • Degree in marketing, public relations, communications, or related field
  • 2-3 years experience in creating and sharing marketing content with strong skills as an editor, researcher, writer and script writer
  • Have a positive attitude and eagerness to learn
  • Proactive, flexible and collaborative team player
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Creative problem solver
  • Portfolio or links to current and/or past work
  • Experience with Mailchimp and Salesforce preferred
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, project management, and time management skills
  • inDesign and Photoshop skills, illustrator experience a plus
