AMA San Diego chapter board members convened their annual retreat June 24 at the offices of Mitchell International and spent much of the day brainstorming an exciting slate of events for the 2018-19 chapter year.
Kirsty Nunez of longtime sponsor Q2 Insights took the team through a unique ideation process that produced interesting combinations of topics, speakers and venues. Board members mulled a variety of inspiring content ideas such as:
- Content strategy
- Artificial intelligence
- Engaging ads
- Privacy & personalization
- Personal branding
The team expects to put on six or more signature events this year along with a full slate of special interest group meetings, two major conferences (Cause and Art of Marketing), plus at least four social & networking mixers. The Cause Conference and Art of Marketing are already on the calendar (Oct. 12, 2018 and April 12, 2019, respectively). We can’t wait to share more details on the full schedule as we lock it down!
Chapter leaders participating in the session were:
- President Rachel Brown
- Secretary Mindy Szkaradnik
- VP Collegiate Relations Andrea Flynn
- Co-VP Programming Kendra Losee
- Events Danielle Hashem
- VP Content Sam Wheeler
- VP Special Interest Groups Marina Anderson
- VP Brand Arin Winkler
- VP Membership Jonathan Leibo
- Cause Conference Liaison David Palmer
- Art of Marketing Conference Chair Bill Winn
The team’s discussions reinforced the organization’s vital mission for San Diego marketers: sharing cutting-edge knowledge and facilitating professional connections that propel careers. These are the priorities that have always driven AMA San Diego activities and that will continue to do so in 2018-19.
