Nonprofit Cause Conference focus includes viral marketing, mobile fundraising
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 18, 2015) – The San Diego chapter of the American Marketing Association (San Diego AMA) announces Jay Ferro, the CIO of the American Cancer Society, will give the keynote address at the 17th annual Cause Conference at National University in La Jolla, Calif.
Ferro, a thought-leader in both the information technology and nonprofit worlds, also founded and is executive director of the nonprofit group Priscilla’s Promise, which raises funds for cervical cancer education and research.
The morning sessions will be presented in a TED-style format that blends a for-profit and nonprofit focus, including “Leveraging Social Investments,” and “Five Tools for Marketing on a Shoestring.” Following a networking session, the afternoon sessions include a variety of topics including viral empowerment strategies and mobile fundraising.
“Participants will come away from this conference with real-world techniques they can use, whether they are on the business or nonprofit-side,” said Angela Titus, vice president of Impact and Marketing at the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation and the honorary chair of the conference. “Attendees will also be exposed to trends and best-practices in the nonprofit marketing world.”
Organizers urge those interested to register early, the conference usually sells out at least a month in advance. The event begins with a kick-off reception, from 6-8 p.m Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Hilton Torrey Pines. The full-day conference takes place from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2015, at National University (11255 N. Torrey Pines Road, La Jolla, CA).
