  • What is your involvement with the San Diego AMA?

I have been a member and volunteer for the AMA since 2011. I’ve served various roles from VP, Communications to VP, Sponsorship. In 2017, my role is President.

  • Best thing about the San Diego AMA?

Meeting like minded marketers, in all types of companies and functions, who want to change the world one story at a time. I’m able to connect with the local marketing community, acquire new skills and resources, find out about the latest marketing trends and learn how others are addressing marketing challenges and client needs.

  • What is a brand you admire, and why?

Procter & Gamble because of their decades of focus on innovation and collaboration. There are so many brands I admired…

  • What is your favorite quote?

Wise sayings often fall on barren ground, but a kind word is never thrown away. -Arthur Helps

  • What is your favorite book?

I read everything I can get my hands on, so choosing one book as a favorite is difficult. One I’ve read several times is The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz. Happiness can only come from inside of you and is the result of your love; you are responsible for your happiness.

  • What business figure inspires you the most?

Warren Buffet. He demonstrated leadership skills at a very early age and in 2006 gave his entire fortune away to charity. His business values align with my own; to love what I do, choose my associates wisely, always be transparent, demonstrate patience, prepare to take risks and learn from my mistakes, and treat everyone equally.

  • What is your one gold nugget of wisdom?

Cultivate an environment of honesty, sincerity and trust in all you do. Integrity is the foundation of moral character and is an essential trait for truly successful professional and personal lives.
