The San Diego Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) is proud to present the Art of Marketing, a one-day, interactive forum of speakers, panels and one-to-one expert sessions designed to celebrate the marketing discipline. The Art of Marketing 2013 delivers real-world solutions in a lively forum, covering a variety of topics from best practices to state of the industry to cutting-edge trends and more.

Presented by the San Diego Chapter of The American Marketing Association (AMA), Art of Marketing 2013 will host 200-250 attendees and speakers from companies around the region, small and medium-sized business, and local universities. Attendees will span the marketing profession, with content targeted to mid-level to senior marketing professionals.

Qualcomm ImpaQt is a global employee innovation program and platform for sharing, fostering and developing ideas. The Qualcomm ImpaQt program utilizes the Design Thinking methodology in idea development and advancement. Design Thinking is a human centered approach to innovation that draws from the designer’s toolkit to integrate the needs of people, the possibilities of technology, and the requirements of business success.

Qualcomm Innovation lead Navrina Singh will provide a brief introduction of the Qualcomm ImpaQt program. Stephen Jordan, operations lead with Qualcomm ImpaQt, will introduce us to Design Thinking and demonstrate how to use it in your workplace.

Recap

The 2013 Art of Marketing Conference was a success with over 200 attendees and speakers! Joe Brenneman, Chief Revenue Officer of the Union Tribune, kicked things off with a great keynote about the ever-changing landscape of media and integrated marketing. The day proceeded with break out sessions  with some fantastic speakers and panels. Here’s a snippet from the session by GreenRope detailing what the ‘C’ in CRM means. Attendees learned about the art of SEO, content, brand loyalty, leadership, social media, PR, behavior marketing, and the joy of networking, speed dating style! Marketers got to sit down and meet one-to-one with masters in social media, PR, research and career development! The entertaining lunch keynote was from Rand Fishkin, the CEO & Co-Founder of the web’s most popular SEO Software provider; MOZ. Here’s the SlideShare from his presentation. Speaking of art,  Jeremy Durant from Bop Design reflected on Michelangelo’s iconic Sistine Chapel and how it can be related to the art of social media. Bop Design was kind enough to share the presentation on their two-part blog along with some fantastic photos! We kept marketers fueled up with Starbucks coffee, cake pops and Popchips. The day ended with an iPad giveaway and some delicious libations and appetizers at Slaters 50/50. We thank all of the speakers, sponsors, and volunteers for their excellent, informative presentations and contributions!
