Recap

Did you know the average internet user spends 88% more time engaged with a website containing video content?

San Diego marketers gathered downtown Sep. 16 to learn about one of the hottest topics in their field, video content marketing. Attendees, ranging from seasoned video veterans to beginners looking to upload their first piece of video content, were eager to learn new strategies and make new acquaintances, and the event didn’t disappoint!

Chris Karcher, President and Chief Creative Officer of Emota, started by sharing a wealth of statistics illustrating the importance of video in marketing campaigns today. For example, while Millenial and Gen X YouTube viewership is unsurprisingly high (72% and 58%, respectively), 43% of Baby Boomers are also YouTube viewers.

Chris then took the group through his firm’s three-tiered video content model:

  • Reach eyes & ears, for building awareness and increase recall
  • Touch hearts & minds, for building trust and preference
  • Share information, for sustaining engagement and growing loyalty

A series of engaging case studies illustrated the purpose and power of each type of video campaign.  The group also benefited from Emota’s knowledge in the areas of cost-effectiveness and SEO as Chris shared some valuable tips.

Many thanks to Chris and the Emota team, and a special thanks to our event sponsor, TriNet.  Check out their Strategic HR Solutions!  Thanks also to Co-Merge for hosting the event and to LAZ Parking for providing free parking!
