For knowledge-sharing, inspiration and connections between cause marketing experts, purpose-driven brands and nonprofits, we couldn’t have wished for a better day than the 2016 Cause Conference™.
Check out the highlight video and full-day recap below.

Globally-recognized social entrepreneur Aaron Hurst got us kicked off Thursday morning by telling us all about “The Purpose Economy”. Aaron made a strong case that humans are genetically wired for purpose!
A variety of interactive presentations and panels throughout the day gave attendees a chance to explore all aspects of cause marketing, employee engagement and for-profit/nonprofit partnerships.

Bethany Joy Clark explained how purpose is at the heart of everything TOMS does. The company was founded on the promise of “one to one”. For every pair of shoes purchased, another pair is delivered to a person in need. TOMS has expanded the promise from shoes to eyewear, and is now trying its hand at coffee.
Attendees got a chance to kick the tires on their marketing knowledge and strategies through the mid-day Unconference and LOUDtables.

An all-star group of purpose-driven businesswomen explained how their brands have embedded purpose into their company cultures and how this has benefited them in terms of brand reputation, employee engagement and ROI. Our thanks go to Karen Archipley of Archi’s Acres, Victoria Fiore of Plum Organics, Darcy Shiber-Knowles of Dr. Bronner’s and Katie Wallace of New Belgium Brewery for this fascinating discussion.

Attendees had plenty of time to network and find out how our sponsors could aid their cause marketing efforts. All the while, our friends at Groovy Like a Movie chronicled the goings-on.

On Friday, our first-ever #CauseSD bootcamps gave attendees a chance to develop and refine their cause marketing strategies and plans.
Once again, our utmost gratitude goes to all the speakers, sponsors, attendees and volunteers without whom the West Coast’s premier cause marketing event just wouldn’t be the same!
